When and Where to View the Solar Eclipse chart

There will be viewing areas established throughout the Village, and you may have a great view from your own backyard. But note the direction shown above of the Sun on April 8. Remember, we live in a forest. So while a particular location may have a good view of the sky at certain times, you want to make sure your view at the precise moment of the total eclipse is not blocked by any trees or other structures. Thus, in advance of this spectacular event, get out your compass or open a compass app on your phone and check out the direction and altitude from your selected location to verify you will have an open view when the time comes.

The HSV Camera Club and Village Stargazers will continue to post information articles on the solar eclipse. Next week, we will cover some do’s and don’ts when viewing.
