In this edition of “Ask Matt,” Hot Springs Village Associate Director of Public Services Matt Broom answers a question about yellow lines on Village roadways.
Resident: I was recently passed by another vehicle with a solid yellow line on the road. Is passing allowed in the Village or are there any designated passing zones on some of our main roads?
Matt: All of our main artery roads have either a single or double yellow lines delineating the direction of travel. You will notice that all yellow lines are solid with breaks only appearing at intersections. The solid yellow lines are to deter passing as we have no passing zones in the Village. We have a lot of hills and sharp curves that make passing unpredictable and dangerous. Please do not cross a yellow line to pass for everyone’s safety. Thank you
