The Garland County Sheriff’s Office published the following press release on February 8, 2024:

“Sheriff Mike McCormick is pleased to announce that on January 31, 2024, two individuals responsible for numerous break-ins to storage facilities within Garland County were arrested. The arrested individuals are 28-year-old Christian Malcom and 30-year-old James Humphrey, who both reside in Garland County and remain in custody. Sheriff McCormick states that some of the items recovered during the execution of numerous search warrants conducted by the Criminal Investigation, the Patrol Division, and the Tactical Response Team were also from storage facilities within Hot Springs Village.

“Through the course of this lengthy investigation, Investigators discovered that Malcom is a former employee of storage unit facilities and accessed the facilities with the knowledge he gained from his employment. Sheriff McCormick further states that this investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible, as well as the recovery of more stolen property. The Criminal Investigation Division is in the process of contacting victims, and if anyone has any information that might assist in the investigation, you are encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 501-622-3690.

“Lastly, Sheriff McCormick stated that this is a prime example that individuals must think twice before committing crimes within Garland County.”
