Supporting law enforcement, the Hot Springs Village Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will hold its 7th Annual Golf Scramble Fundraiser on Friday, May 17, 2024. The Scramble, taking place at the Ponce de Leon Golf Course, will commence with check-in at 9:00 a.m. The shotgun start is at 10:30 a.m.

About the HSV Citizens Police Academy
In April 2014, the Hot Springs Village Police Department launched the Citizens Policy Academy, allowing residents to gain deeper insight into the department’s operations.
The Citizens Police Academy is a six-week initiative designed to give Villagers a practical understanding of the Hot Springs Village Police Department. Its aim is to inform the public about the HSVPD and foster stronger bonds between citizens and police officers.
Participants gain a thorough understanding of each department division, including administrative, patrol, criminal investigation, dispatch, gates, and animal control. The program extends over eight weeks, with weekly sessions.
Recognizing the necessity for a support network for the Hot Springs Village Police Department, Academy graduates established an alumni association in September 2015.
Hot Springs Village Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA)
Established by graduates of the Citizens Police Academy, the Association is dedicated to three main objectives: 1) bolstering the initiatives of the HSV Police Department, 2) enhancing the financial resources available to the HSVPD, and 3) advancing the safety of both officers and residents within the community.
The association’s primary objective is to generate funds for the department’s requirements that are presently not included in the Hot Springs Village Property Owners’ Association budget.
Funds are raised through grants, donations, and fundraising events such as the HSV Citizens Police Academy Alumni 7th Annual Golf Scramble and other affairs such as a rummage sale.
