The Hot Springs Village POA Communications Committee met on Tuesday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m. at the Coronado Community Center. The committee always works hard on many projects, and right now, its main focus is on the Total Solar Eclipse Extravaganza plans. Mindy Maxwell, the Business Development and Client Relations Manager, updated the committee on personnel changes and marketing projects she is working on.

Committee Members attending the meeting were Steve Korotash, Secretary; Jim Rice; Susan McCarty; Clara Nicolosi, Vice-chair; Mark Smith, Chair.

Staff present at the meeting were Pam Avila, Committee Liaison and Communications/Revenue Growth Specialist; Mindy Maxwell, Committee Liaison and Business Development and Client Relations Manager.

POA personnel changes

As previously announced, Avila is retiring, and Maxell was promoted to Avila’s position but with a different title. Julie White will replace Maxwell as the Administrative Assistant to the General Manager. Maxwell hopes to be fully in her new role in April.

Maxwell’s projects

Maxwell met with Will Rainwater, the IT Manager, and the golf staff. Rainwater is working with NorthStar on some website issues. Maxwell is updating the Stay and Play Golf confirmation email packets.

Avila said that the Stay and Play golf confirmation email packet only goes to the group leader; The rest of the golf participants do not receive the information. “We are working on capturing all of the participants and sending the packet to each one,” Avila stated.

Maxwell said we must let people know there is more to the village than golf. We have pickleball, trails, tennis, twelve lakes, to name a few.

Maxwell will work with golf influencers who can be given free golf. Then, they will promote the village on their videos.

Golf box promotion

Avila said that Committee Member Chuck Miller is gaining traction by contacting organizations like Kiwanis, Rotary, etc., about the Golf Box Promotion. These boxes will be donated to the organizations as raffle items.

Banner update

Nicolosi is designing logo welcome banners for the East and West Gates. Light poles at these locations have brackets for the banners. She is still determining what size the banners at the gates can be. Nicolosi said, “At one time, we had banners in these locations, but they became discolored.”
