Hot Springs Village, AR – The Hot Springs Village Fire Department is proud to announce the arrival of its newest fire engine, Engine 5 (E-5). To commemorate this significant addition to the fleet and honor fire service traditions, the department will host a special “Push-In Ceremony” on 9 October at 10:00 AM at the Desoto Fire Station, located at 115 Calella Road.

Chief Jason Miller extends a warm invitation to all community members to participate in this historic event. “We’re excited to welcome our new Engine 5 and continue our commitment to providing top-notch emergency services to Hot Springs Village,” said Chief Miller. “This ceremony is not just about a new piece of equipment; it’s about celebrating our community’s support and the rich history of the fire service.”

The push-in ceremony is a time-honored tradition in the fire service, dating back to the late 1800s. Originally, when horse-drawn fire engines returned from a call, firefighters had to manually push them back into the station as horses couldn’t easily back the engines into their tight quarters. Today, this ceremony symbolizes the unity between firefighters and the community they serve.
