We are pleased to present the delightful premier of “Leaves,” sung by a very talented vocalist, Nancy Carlton. Both the melody and lyrics for “Leaves” were authored by Mrs. Carlton and recorded at Tim Crouch’s studio, where he accompanied Nancy by playing all the instruments in the recording. Nancy is an accomplished individual, and her gifts also include writing, and on-stage acting, in addition to her involvement in music just about all her life.
Over the years, Nancy has been an integral part of numerous church choirs and praise teams. Currently, she sings with The Village Chorale and Voices Rising, and the Village Bible Church Choir and Praise Team.
Nancy was the vocalist for Jazz Organ Collective and was with Top of the Rock Sweet Adelines Chorus in Little Rock. Nancy also sang with, the Jazzmatazz Quartet, which is a subgroup within the larger chorus, She has several years of experience as lead vocalist with 4 His Glory, an all-female acapella gospel quartet.
As a teenager, she spent three years singing with The Singing Teens, of North Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene. In the summer, the group toured the United States and Canada performing at many different churches.
In her late forties, Nancy enjoyed participating in the opera Program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, singing mezzo-soprano in two operas.
Various other music venues that Nancy has been involved in include musical theater at The Royal in Benton and performing at The Five Star Dinner Theater in Hot Springs.
Although Nancy has been a vocalist most of her life, her songwriting experience has been mostly concentrated in the last several years when she wrote a good many songs on her own and co-wrote quite a few with Buddy Case.
Nancy is always looking for opportunities to further her singing and songwriting experience and enthusiastically shared, “I would love to record an album!”
