Mark your calendars for Friday, July 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM – “Meet & Greet” BBQ
Village residents are invited to a “meet and greet” BBQ on July 29, to welcome our new police chief, Kristi Bennett. Not only will you have the chance to meet Kristi Bennett, but you will also have the opportunity to recognize and thank all first responders – police officers, firefighters, and LifeNet personnel.
The BBQ will include jumbo hot dogs (by grill-master, GM Kelly Hale), baked beans, chips, water, soft drinks, and dessert.
The event will be held at the Police Training & Event Center (“PTEC”), 301 Balearic Road, between 4:00 and 7:00 pm. This time frame coincides with shift changes for the first responders so they can attend and visit with the residents as well.
While at PTEC, you will have the opportunity to see and possibly try our interactive scenario-based firearms training simulator [which we commonly refer to as MILO]. This laser-based professional training system is used for training police officers and other security personnel in a variety of real-life situations but can also be used for recreational training and shooting proficiency.
Sponsors of this event are:
- HSV Citizens Police Academy Alumni Assn. (CPAAA)
- Military Officers Association (MOAA)
- Veterans Memorial Foundation (MOAA, VFW & American Legion)
If this is going to be outdoors and indoors, I would be honored to volunteer my entertainment services.. for a performance of my Dean Martin impersonation…(inside). I’ve always supported the VFW and other defenders of the United States and this would be something I vigorously support.
P.S…. my daughter is an EMT studying to become a Physician’s Assistant.
