Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) announced the 2024-25 Nighthawk Cheer Team and Mascot Friday. NPC hosted a tryout clinic and competition last week.
This year’s cheer team consists of students from four area high schools, a student from Little Rock and a student from Ft. Worth, Texas. Each member has more than two years of cheer and/or dance experience. Cheer Coach, Michelle Godwin said, “The enthusiasm of this team is palpable.”
This year’s team captain is Rose Whitley (Malvern). Other members include Julie Tyler (Ft. Worth, Texas), Erica Canada (Little Rock), Laura Stillwell (Mountain Pine), Rylee-Anne Jones (Mountain Pine), Laekyn English (Malvern), and Breanna Brown (Hot Springs).
Brown (Hot Springs) was selected as the campus mascot and will represent NPC as Nox the Nighthawk this year.
“My expectation for the team this year is to encourage school spirit and ignite a sense of NPC pride,” said Godwin.
