Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines periodically holds a Kirkin’ O’ the Tartans. A Tartan is a patterned cloth with crisscrossed, horizontal, and vertical bands in multiple colors, forming simple or complex rectangular patterns. Tartans originated in woven wool but are now made from other materials. The Tartan indicates to which Scottish Clan a person belongs. On September 24, 2023, we will have a Bagpipe Band from Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas, at the Kirk. We welcome all to attend. If you have Scottish heritage and want to participate in the Parade of the Tartans, you may contact Kirk in the Pines Church office at 501-922-1333. This service is a celebration of Scottish heritage.
