As reported previously on July 10, the Chair of the GAC, Bob Pettey, said, “Storm Clouds Coming to HSV From Tax Assessors.” Property taxes were recently reassessed and due to increased property values, many folks received notice of a significant tax increase.
Shannon Sharp, the Tax Assessor in Garland County, and Bob Ramsey, the Tax Assessor in Saline County, will be speakers at the Governmental Affairs Committee (GAC) meeting on August 5. Saline County JP, Keith [Keck], and Garland County, JP Larry [Raney] arranged for the speakers.
Chair of the GAC said, “considering the large number of property tax increase notices that recently went out, I would think there are a number of Villagers that would be interested in their presentation.”
The GAC will meet on Friday, August 5 at 9:00 AM at the Ouachita Room, located at the Ponce de Leon Center in Hot Springs Village. Be sure to mark this date on your calendar. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions after the presentation.
