WEEKLY UPDATE ON TORNADO RECOVERY May 9, 2024
Right-of-way and easement recovery
Week 5 – 115,170 cubic yards of debris removed thus far (last week the amount was 87,150 cubic yards of debris removed to that point).
Michael’s Tree & Loader Service and Conway Enterprises are both engaged in various areas for storm clean-up. The Arkansas State Forestry Service is also assisting our clean-up crews with accessing utilities still covered by storm debris.
The contractors are in the Mano Way neighborhood, Hidalgo Dr/Burgos Way areas, Montanoso Way, Palma Way, and Raso Way completing the first pass. Logging crews will also be in these areas to collect as much harvestable timber as possible (what is accessible from the road right-of-way).
Please avoid these neighborhoods, if possible – local traffic only. Please drive safely and respect all work zone personnel as they work quickly to restore the community.
Click Here or view below for two graphics of the affected areas showing progress by colored routes. Note that this is NOT meant to be a detailed readable map but just a high level view of where work is being done. Areas identified in RED are neighborhoods that require debris removal which will start soon. YELLOW identifies where we are working currently. GREEN identifies the streets where the first pass is complete.
Please also note that firewood collection in the affected areas is not being permitted at this time. It’s important to keep the area clear for the large vehicles and the workers who are out there. Everyone except residents of the neighborhoods is still being asked to stay away from the area.
