Winter Weather Update (Hazardous Weather Conditions)
Thursday, January 18, 2024
8:45 a.m. Status Report from the POA
ATTENTION VILLAGERS!
Road conditions are NOT improving yet!
Here is another update from the POA emergency operations team. There are car accidents all along DeSoto Blvd. due to the black ice! Any facilities already previously listed as “closed” will remain so – POA offices and the Fitness Center will now try to open at 11 am.
The freezing rain has created extremely hazardous road conditions that continue as the morning progresses. The POA is recommending residents wait until later today, at the earliest, to travel on our roads. If you don’t have to drive somewhere right now – don’t!
For any non-emergency issues, please reach out to Public Services via the form provided online. The emails from this form go to every Public Services superintendent plus Matt Broom and Ken Unger. It also creates a record for PS to track what’s happened.
Stay tuned for further updates – and please stay off the roads whenever possible! Stay warm and stay safe!
