The Winter at the Woodlands 2023 is a series of four fabulous concerts of outstanding entertainers in the industry proudly presented by The Entertainment Foundation and Lifelong Learning Institute of Hot Springs Village. Proceeds from these concerts will support the missions and activities of these village organizations.

The first concert on Thursday, January 19, 2023, will feature Steve Dorff, honored as a 2018 Inductee to the prestigious Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in New York City. Grammy and six-time Emmy nominated Steve Dorff has written songs sung by the likes of Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Anne Murray, George Strait, Garth Brooks, and countless others while establishing himself as a gifted film and television composer. He’s tallied over 40 BMI awards with hits like Rogers’ “Through the Years,” Murray’s “I Just Fall in Love Again” (Billboard’s top country hit of 1979), Strait’s “I Cross My Heart,” Lee Greenwood’s “Don’t Underestimate My Love for You,” and Eddie Rabbitt’s “Every Which Way But Loose” – the title track from Clint Eastwood’s 1978 film. His songs have charted in five successive decades, with Number One records across four decades. Dorff has also composed TV music for Spenser: For Hire, Murphy Brown, The Singing Bee, Just the 10 of Us, Growing Pains, Murder She Wrote, Columbo, and Reba. His other film contributions include songs and scores for Bronco Billy, Rocky IV, Pure Country, Tin Cup, and Honky Tonk Man. For more information on Steve, go to https://www.stevedorff.com/.

The second concert on Thursday, February 16, 2023, will be “A Night of Love” featuring John Berry, an American country music artist. Active as a recording artist since 1979, he has recorded more than 20 studio albums, including one platinum album and two gold albums. In his career, Berry has also charted 19 songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including the Number One single “Your Love Amazes Me” from 1994 and six additional Top 10 hits: “What’s in It for Me,” “You and Only You,” “Standing on the Edge of Goodbye,” “I Think About It All the Time,” “Change My Mind,” and “She’s Taken a Shine.” For more information on John, go to https://www.johnberry.com/.

The third concert on Thursday, March 9, 2023, will feature award-winning John Denver Tribute Artist Roy Rivers. No one relates to an audience the way Roy Rivers does. And no one personifies John Denver the way Roy does, though it’s never been intentional. An award-winning singer/songwriter in his own right, having written almost 200 to date, Roy also happens to be the number one John Denver tribute artist in the world. He won the European CMA Award for his duet, “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” with Dolly Parton. His song “The Perfect Time” was licensed by the Salt Lake Olympic Committee. Not only is he a gifted writer and singer, but he’s also an incredibly talented guitarist. Rivers will be backed by local professionals – the great Byron Yancey on bass and Paul Moore on lead guitar. The fourth and final concert in this series will be on Thursday, April 20, 2023, and feature Marty Edwards and Wendy T, paying a tribute to Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. In 1983, Kenny and Dolly took their show on the road with their “Real Love” tour, also known as “Together,” performing their individual hits, as well as popular duets that each had recorded with other artists. Talk to anyone who was at those shows, and they will tell you it was magical. Marty Edwards and Wendy T have been recreating that magic with their performances in “Together Again™” for more than a decade. These world-class tribute artists have toured repeatedly around the world to some of the most prestigious venues throughout England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Mexico, Canada, and the USA. Kenny and Dolly Together Again™, a tribute to Country Music’s favorite couple, featuring Marty Edwards as Kenny Rogers and Wendy T as Dolly Parton. And, yes, Wendy “fills” the role…uh, shall we say to a “T.” For more information on Marty and Wendy’s show, go to https://martyedwardsmusic.com/html/main_kkdp.htm.
