Janet Carson Set to Speak at the VPGC October 3, 2023 Meeting
Village Pines Garden Club is excited to open its October 3rd meeting to the community for a special educational presentation. The Pines has invited popular speaker, author, and columnist Janet Carson to the October meeting to talk about Fall Gardening. This special meeting is in conjunction with the Pines 50-year celebration of community service. The meeting begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. at the Coronado Community Center at 150 Ponderosa Lane, Hot Springs Village. There will be time for questions and answers after this no-cost presentation.
Janet Carson, Emeritus Extension Horticulture Specialist, retired in 2019 after a 38-year career with the Cooperative Extension Service. She holds a BS and MS degrees from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
Janet was instrumental in establishing the Arkansas Master Gardener Program. She is well-known throughout the state for her weekly column in the Arkansas News-Gazette, which provides advice and gardening ideas. She is always well-received as a speaker because of her interesting presentations and extensive gardening knowledge in Arkansas.
Village Pines Garden Club Fall Mums Sale Fundraiser Continues
The Fall Mum Fundraiser Sale continues through September, ending on October 8. Delivery will be the week of October 9. The Pines has preordered 12-inch potted red, yellow, and bronze mums for $20 each. The pre-book order form and detailed information are posted in the HSV Gazette and in the Village Digest.
