Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) will host a free self-defense seminar on Tuesday, January 21, at 3 p.m. in the Student Commons Conference Center.
Professional mixed martial arts fighters Adriana Peret and Dawond Pickney will lead the seminar. Participants will learn effective techniques for protecting themselves in real-life situations in a safe, supportive environment. Professional fighters bring advanced knowledge of body mechanics, mental resilience, and situational awareness, teaching practical moves that can empower participants and boost their confidence.
Peret is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and an NPC graduate. She is the co-owner of Real Deal Martial Arts where she coaches youth and adult programs. “These businesses allow me to combine my healthcare knowledge with my love for fitness and personal development. I believe in creating opportunities that inspire others to pursue their passions and lead fulfilling lives,” said Peret.
Pickney has over 20 years of experience fighting, with a combined 16 years of coaching. He has been fighting and coaching with his father in the sport of boxing from the age of eight. He is co-owner of Real Deal Martial Arts and Promotion Real Deal Championship, giving fighters opportunities to build their career in the sport of martial arts.
The event is free and open to the public.
