It is my honor to be able to announce Fire Chief Jason Miller’s upcoming retirement. After 28 years of dedicated service to the Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association, Chief Miller will be officially retiring on April 1st, 2025.

Chief Miller has provided steady leadership within our Fire Department for over 10 years as Chief. His professional achievements are numerous, but it is his compassion, mentorship, and steadfast presence that have truly left a lasting impact on our community. His dedication to public service has been a source of inspiration.

I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations and thanks to Chief Miller for his commitment and years of service to our community. We wish him all the best in this new chapter of his life.

Following Chief Miller’s retirement, I am excited to announce that Captain Jeremy Simmons has been named Interim Fire Chief of the Hot Springs Village Fire Department and will be assuming command beginning on February 1st, 2025.

With over two decades of experience in fire service, Captain Simmons brings exceptional leadership and an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our residents. His expertise in emergency response and team management has been proven time and again, notably during his role as Incident Commander during last year’s devastating tornado. These qualities make him the ideal choice to lead the department during this transition.

As Interim Fire Chief, Captain Simmons will oversee all departmental operations, ensuring the continuation of the outstanding service our community relies on. We are confident that his leadership will uphold the high standards of the Hot Springs Village Fire Department.

The process of selecting a permanent Fire Chief will begin soon, and we will keep you updated as we move forward. In the meantime, please join us in celebrating Chief Miller’s remarkable career, and in congratulating Captain Simmons on his new role. Let’s support him as he takes on these critical responsibilities.

Thank you, Chief Miller, for the 28 years of unwavering dedication and for making our community a safer and better place. You will always be a cherished member of the Hot Springs Village family.

Respectfully,

Ken Unger
