“We are thrilled to announce exciting changes within the Golf Department, underscoring our dedication to improving operations and providing an exceptional experience for our members and visitors.
“Over the past three years, under Kelly Hale’s leadership, we have worked diligently to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Our ongoing challenge has been finding innovative ways to elevate the golfing experience by improving course conditions, attracting more golfers, and increasing revenue while reducing expenses and subsidies to strengthen the POA’s financial position.
“A few months ago, Tami Jones was appointed to serve as the Director of Golf Maintenance Operations. Tami oversees the maintenance of all eight courses, bringing her expertise and leadership to this critical role.
“To further enhance the entire golf department, the following changes are being made effective immediately.
“Gary Porter will transition from Head Golf Professional to Director of Golf Services. In this role, Gary will focus on business operations and development, encompassing employee management, facility oversight, daily operations, budgeting, and revenue generation and member growth.
“Tom Heffer will move from Director of Golf to Senior PGA Professional. Tom’s role is to ensure our members and visitors enjoy an unparalleled golfing experience. His responsibilities will include instruction, club fitting and selection, operating camps and
clinics, and attracting vendors for demo days. Tom will also coordinate all tournaments and manage logistics,
