In this installment of “Ask Matt,” Matt Broom, Associate Public Services Director, addresses maintenance and cleanup of neighborhood entry signs.
Resident: The residents in our neighborhood would like the community sign at the entrance to our neighborhood cleaned up and restored. Will the POA take care of this?
Matt: Cooper installed signs at the entrances of many neighborhoods. The POA does not have the resources to be responsible for the maintenance of these signs. Per the current Common Property rules, residents do not need a permit to help maintain areas along our roads. As long as the sign or area is not being substantially changed related to colors or landscaping, residents have the ability to clean up and do maintenance on these areas. If residents want to make substantial changes to these areas (color changes or new landscaping), they would need to submit a permit to the Common Property Committee and the ACC to obtain approval. Hope this helps.
