The Hot Springs Village Tennis Association sponsored a unique social tennis event at the Coronado Tennis Center on July 13th titled “Strawberries & Cream”. The event coincided with the Championships, Wimbledon 2024 women’s final. Village tennis players wore traditional whites and shared in the Wimbledon tradition of having strawberries and cream after finishing their matches. Players enjoyed playing competitive matches and the social interaction, including catching some of the women’s final, won by Barbora Krejcikova from the Czech Republic, her second Grand Slam singles title.

Special Thanks

Thanks to all the participants including the players, volunteers, and friends and family showing out to watch the matches and cheer on the competitors. A big shout-out to the event director, Dominique Kohlenberger for leading the effort. Special thanks to all the volunteers who helped organize the matches (Pat White), decorate the tennis center (Rileen White), and prepare the strawberries and cream (Deby Sweatt, Karen Roberts, Ann Wilmot, Vicki Levins). Hats off to the Coronado Tennis Center staff for the great tennis facilities and assistance with the event.
