Opera Mix – Fascinating Rhythms of Gershwin, Bach, Weill & Handel
Opera Mix – “Broken Standards” is set to perform in beautiful Hot Springs Village at the Woodlands Auditorium, 1101 DeSoto Boulevard, on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.
“Broken Standards, ” a Muses Project production, is a rich and diverse juxtaposition of baroque elegance with American standards. This unique and highly entertaining cabaret-style concert is presented by The Muses Classical Performance Troupe of internationally touring professional vocalists, skilled instrumentalists, and resident professional singers and dancers, sharing arrangements of early opera art song, oratorio and sacred selections by Handel, Purcell, and Bach, paired with American big band and Jazz standards by Cole Porter, George Gershwin, and Kurt Weill.
According to The Muses Project website, their “Cabaret ‘best of’ designed concerts have established their signature style and genius in blending vastly different musical styles, including Classical and Jazz, in revolutionary, entertaining, and evocative ways. Part of the Muses’ Mission is to make past “Classics” accessible to a new generation of listeners and watch the virtuosity and sheer joy of the performance sweep everyone away.
General Admission tickets for the Friday, September 15 concert, “Broken Standards” are $35 each.
