Scott McCord and Mark Quinton were recently certified to conduct HSV Urban Deer Hunt Training.
For the first time, Hot Springs Village POA, under the direction of Superintendent Todd Noles, is organizing and managing the HSV Urban Deer Hunt. Part of this process involves having qualified and certified instructors conduct the orientation. Click here to read about the changes in this year’s hunt.
Scott McCord and Mark Quinton recently completed the International Bow Hunters Program (IBEP) for instructors, which was held at Arkansas Game and Fish headquarters in Little Rock. Scott and Mark are certified to conduct all the necessary training and instruction for first-time hunters in the Hot Springs Village Urban Deer Hunt.
At a recent Common Property, Forestry, and Wildlife Committee meeting, Noles said, “We have 113 hunters registered. I expect the numbers to climb as word of mouth gets out. Law officers and firefighters from adjoining cities have signed up.”
The committee has been busy printing placards and helping Noles publicize and organize the orientation.
HSV property owners, HSVPOA staff, and state first responders interested in participating in this year’s HSV Urban Deer Hunt can pre-register now.
Training, orientation, and qualification are scheduled for Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. at the Ponce de Leon Center at 1101 DeSoto Blvd, Hot Springs Village.
