Is a Permit Needed?
It is better to be safe than sorry when making home improvements. Be sure to check with the Compliance and Permitting Department Before Starting a Home Improvement Project.
Hot Springs Village Property Owners proceeding with projects before permits are approved by the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) may face fines and possible removal of the improvement if the ACC does not issue a permit.
If in doubt, contact the Permitting and Inspections Department to see if a permit is needed, and do not proceed with the work until the permit has been approved by the Architectural Control Committee. Filling out a permit application does not mean the permit is official as it must still go through the approval process with the ACC.
According to the Explore the Village website, “Permits are needed for a wide range of projects including building a new home, adding a deck or a dock, a new sprinkler system, a room addition, enclosing a garage, and more. If you are not sure if you need a permit, just call Permitting at (501) 922-5562. “
