Voices Rising, Hot Springs Village’s smaller auditioned ensemble, will present a concert of love songs on February 25 at 3:00 p.m. in the Village Bible Church.

Not familiar with Voices Rising? Well, here’s your chance. Established in 2016 and under the direction of Marc Bremer, the group sings a variety of music from patriotic to classical to Broadway to sacred. Most selections are performed to a recording or are acapella (unaccompanied). The blend of talent, with each member an accomplished musician in his or her own right, provides a rich, harmonic sound that gives audiences a musical experience they won’t forget. With all their music memorized, the group shares their joy of singing through movement and instrumentation.  Solos, duets, and quartets round out the group’s repertoire. Voices Rising presents two major concerts a year, as well as numerous performances for organizations and special events.

The selections in “In Love With Love” are a perfect way to continue celebrating “Valentine’s Month.” Ranging from old standards like “It Had to Be You” to movie and Broadway favorites like “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and even a couple of modern sure-to-become standards like “You Are the Reason,” there is something in this concert for everyone. Singers Carmen Edwards, Jill Fitzgerald, Don Gohr, and Maureen Morgan are featured soloists within selections. As a special treat, Director/tenor Marc Bremer and Voices Rising (and the Muses) soprano Ruth’e Korelitz will present “All I Ask of You” from The Phantom of the Opera. Rounding out the special selections is a Voices Rising octet sharing the Patsy Cline hit “Crazy.”

Come dressed in Valentine red or in whatever color you like, as long as you come and share the afternoon with us.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, and are available from any Voices Rising singer or at the door on performance day.
