HSVPOA BOARD BRIEF #33 – July 10, 2023

In the interest of keeping residents informed on factual information and legitimate activities related to the POA, the HSVPOA Board of Directors would like to take this opportunity to address misinformation that is now circulating.

The misinformation relates to a developer-proposed project, at this point purely conceptual, for a number of “casitas” designed to house visiting golfers. It should be noted the POA is strongly committed to “responsible growth” to ensure the future of HSV, and in that vein the POA is always willing to meet with and listen to developers with possible project ideas that would be of value to the Village.

With inaccurate information about the above-mentioned proposed project currently circulating around the Village, the Board believes it is important that residents have the correct facts – not untruths and/or a misunderstanding of the facts.

·        Fact – a developer has approached the POA with a concept for building a number of “casitas” for housing visiting golfers. The POA’s initial interest in a project like this stems from the fact that in 2023 the HSV “Stay and Play” golf packages will generate almost $1 million in revenue. The opportunity for potential revenue growth from this program is impacted by a lack of housing for those visiting golfers.

·        Fact – the POA is doing its due diligence on the validity of the credentials presented and the financial ability of the interested party to perform. This process has not been completed.

·        Fact – no developer requests for approval have been presented to the ACC or to the Board.

·        Fact – the POA would not even consider a project that would negatively impact the community as a whole.
